Associate Scientist


Responsible for the execution of lab experiments under the guidance of senior R&D staff. Support the research work of more senior scientists and engineers. Oversee the management of lab supplies and equipment. Perform data analysis,  documentation, and present lab results to senior R&D staff. 

  

Specific Functions and Responsibilities:

 

· Work with senior staff to develop and execute test methods

· Design and execute experiments

· Analyze and present data

· Document work such that R&D activities can be preserved, understood by others, and used in support of FDA submissions and   any patent activities that may arise from the work. This includes maintaining laboratory notebooks as well as writing protocols               and reports.

· Follows procedure to ensure compliance with Design Control procedures as well as other FDA regulations and ISO13485 requirements.

· General lab maintenance

· Support other departments as needed

 

Education or Formal Training Required:

 

BS in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or medical technology and 2-5 years experience in a research lab. Experience in the medical device industry with knowledge of FDA GMP and GLP requirements, and the ISO13485 standard is preferred.

  

Qualifications Required: (knowledge, skills, abilities, initiative, judgment, etc.)

 

· General lab skills

· Data analysis ability, including use of various computer programs

· Sterile technique, including tissue culture experiments

· Ability to design experiments

· Strong writing and oral communication

SALARY RANGE: $70k-85k plus target bonus
